Recently at the Honbu Dojo, former All Japan Heavy Weight Champion Mr. Paul Ford returned after 4 years away from Japan. His powerful kicks and fast punches are dynamic, and we can imagine his continuous practice in Canada during his time outside Japan.
In training, Paul faced off with Mr. Shimizu, the 2010 Light Weight World Champion. Paul initially gained advantage with his powerful kicks and larger size, but the current Light Weight Champion Shimizu quickly adapted his distancing and strategy, and was successfully able to strike cleanly with middle level punches and kicks by using his speed to step in quickly.
We are looking forward to seeing them fight at the upcoming 29th Japan Open Koshiki Karatedo Championship.
